Concerts for Long Term Care Facilities and Retirement Homes.
To be clear, music therapy is not entertainment, it is designed to be enjoyable for most participants and from the outside can sometimes look like entertainment, but it is a carefully designed therapeutic experience and so much more than entertainment is going on.
That being said, over the course of his career as a music therapist/performer/ethno-musicologist Aaron has developed a very large repertoire of songs from the 1890s-1980s that are perfect for entertaining seniors in long term care facilities and retirement homes. Aaron accompanies his resonant singing voice with his guitar skills, performing in a variety of genres (Broadway and big band songs, popular songs from WWII, folk songs from various parts of North America and the Caribbean, calypsos, Hebrew and Yiddish songs, blues, jazz, country, early rock and roll. These concerts are highly interactive and are a deeply engaging and entertaining experience for long-term -care residents of all abilities.
Generally this service is NOT available in facilities where we are providing clinical music therapy services, exceptions maybe made on a case-by case basis.
